About Us

Filmmaker One LogoHi, My name is Tracy Evans. I host and produce Filmmaker One - The podcast for filmmakers. My collaborator and co-host is Bob Gebert.

The goal of this site is to inspire, encourage and inform aspiring indie filmmakers, video producers, writers and video enthusiasts. On the podcast, we focus on first films. I talk with directors , writers and producers about their movies and their experience in the industry.

Tracy and lovely daughter Haley Evans in a scene from real life.I am a director, producer and animator (and now podcaster.) I run a production company in Houston Texas, USA, cleverly called Tracy Evans Productions. We produce corporate videos, interactive DVDs, 3D animation and multimedia exhibitry, mostly for business-to-business communication. My company will celebrate it’s 10th year in business in 2008. We are currently building out a new facility where we will have two studios (one audio, one video) where we will be producing more podcasts.

Prior to Tracy Evans Producitons, I did many things, including animator, web designer, art director, art student and stage magician. But all that is another story (and another podcast?)

Bob Gebert and Evan Lee Dahl in 11 Minutes AgoMy associate, Bob Gebert, has an extensive background in writing, directing, producing and acting for theater and now film. His current film is the time-travel, romantic comedy, “11 Minutes Ago“. Prior to selling a feature comedy pitch to Lynda Obst Productions and Paramount Pictures, was the writer/artistic director of a dinner theater in Houston for 6 years. He oversaw 600 performances of his plays. He spent years splitting his time between writing industrial videos, acting in stage productions, performing magic gigs and writing. His screenplays have placed highly in numerous contests including the Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting, the Chesterfield Fellowship and Scriptapalooza.

Bob began his professional career at age 16 as a magician performing both stage illusion and close-up. After studying theater at Sam Houston State University, he continued his studies in New York with esteemed acting coach, Herbert Berghof. He has appeared in over 150 stage productions and played major roles in the independent features Killing the Badge and Laughing Boy.

Jim Bratton - -the voice that explains thingsOur other collaborators include our announcer Jim Bratton (shown left) Jeffrey Djayasaputra, who created the fantastic Filmmaker One logo and the web site design, Eddie Martinez who attends to our most difficult IT needs, and Biff Van Cleve and Preston Brousard for their upcoming work on Filmmaker One HD.

Many thanks to all.

Tracy
